About Kim Knox Beckius
New
England Coast author Kim Knox Beckius grew up in New York's Hudson Valley, and her earliest impressions of New England were formed during family trips to the Connecticut shore and Cape Cod. She relocated to Connecticut in 1996 and soon began sharing the wonders of her new home with a global audience via the
New England Travel Web site she produces for About.com, a New York Times Company.
She is the author of six books including Voyageur Press's The
New England Coast: The Most Spectacular Sights & Destinations, Backroads of New England and
Backroads of New York, as well as
The Everything Outdoor Wedding Book and
The Everything Family Guide to New
England. Her writing and photography have also been featured on several other Web sites and blogs, as well as in magazines including
Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, RV View, and Comcast's Connected Living. She is frequently called on by television, radio, and print media outlets to discuss travel and events in New England.
Beckius lives in Connecticut with her husband and six-year-old daughter, who don't mind being dragged along to beaches, lighthouses, and lobster shacks at all.
